Dear readers

It has been a most exciting year in the Cincinnati Art World:

The FotoFocus Biennial engaged viewers around the region,

Christina Vassallo has taken the helm as director of our Contemporary Art Center and the opening of an exciting new CAC outreach facility.

The Taft Museum of Art named Rebekah Beaulieu as CEO to lead that institution to new heights

New leadership of Jodie Gates at the Cincinnati Ballet

And most recently, the stunning discovery of an ambitious portrait hidden under a classic still life by Cezanne.. just to name a few.

In this post, we cover that exciting discovery of the Cezanne portrait with notes on the processes used.

Sue Spaid reports on the spectacular Chase-Riboud Exhibition: the Bronzes at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation, a contemporary artist of monumental stature. Cynthia Kukla takes us through the transformative power of dance in the marvelous “Beyond Bollywood” exhibition at the Cincinnati Art Museum, presenting dynamic artworks from South and Southeast Asia and the Himalayan region through the centuries.

Saad Ghosn reviews “Bending the Arc” at the Annex Gallery and Jonathan Kamholtz reviews two Kent Krugh curated photography exhibitions.

Our Laura Hobson covers the new site of the Clifton Contemporary Art Center under the energized leadership of executive director, Leslie Mooney.
