Carl Solway Gallery announces the appointment of Linda Schwartz as Marketing
Director for Solway Editions. Now entering the gallery’s 51st year in
business, Carl Solway Gallery has an extensive history of publishing print
editions and fabricating sculptural works with contemporary artists. Recent
projects include collaborations with such well-known artists as Ann
Hamilton, Allan McCollum and Peter Saul.
A gallerist for over 20 years, Linda Schwartz has actively participated in
Cincinnati’s contemporary arts community since moving to the area in 1999.
Schwartz was raised and educated in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, where she
studied art history at the University of Illinois. After moving to
Lexington, Kentucky in the 1980s, Schwartz began presenting art exhibitions
in alternative locales and subsequently opened Linda Schwartz Gallery in
1995. From 1999 to 2004, the gallery was located on 4th Street in downtown
Cincinnati, Ohio. In 2004 she established Linda Schwartz Projects,
specializing in sales, organizing exhibitions, and cataloging private
collections. Most recently Schwartz was the Curatorial/ Administration
Manager for FOTOFOCUS, a regional celebration of the photograph held in
October 2012.
