The Carnegie is excited to announce that Matt Distel has been named Exhibition Director of The Carnegie Galleries. Distel assumes the role previously held by Bill Seitz, who announced his retirement in January.
Distel will join The Carnegie in early June, allowing time for him to assist with the transition of his replacement at Visionaries + Voices, where he has served as the Executive Director since 2012.
Distel brings a broad range of experience to the position, with a background that includes time at the Contemporary Arts Center and a stint as Director of Country Club, a contemporary art gallery with locations in Cincinnati and Los Angeles. He was also recently named Adjunct Curator of contemporary art at the Cincinnati Art Museum.
